About Me
First and foremost, I’m a continuous learner who thrives on critical thinking and problem solving. While I may not be a “scientist” in the traditional sense, my enthusiasm for science profoundly shapes my approach to the world, as well as to the challenges and learning opportunities I encounter.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and have spent a significant part of my career as a Hardware Test Engineer. My specialization lies in testing hardware devices, including motherboards, network cards, and wireless cards. One project that stands out involved signal integrity testing of motherboards, particularly on the PCIe routes. This task required the synchronization of various testing instruments—including a 72-port RF matrix, signal generator, oscilloscope, noisecom (noise injection), Agilent ParBERT 81250, AVMC (voltage) and Medusa (thermal)—for automated testing. My introduction to Python was driven by the need to automate this equipment, leading to the development of measurement scripts that reduced testing time by up to four days per test run.
I have since pivoted my career towards data science and analysis, utilizing my Python skills extensively. A notable role was a contract with the Space Telescope Science Institute, where I automated the ingestion of data from the Hubble Space Telescope.
Outside of work, I immerse myself in the worlds of science fiction and fantasy, genres that are not only a source of entertainment but a great source of inspiration and creativity. Among my favorite series are:
I’m a passionate player of 5th and 2nd edition Dungeons & Dragons. I enjoy collaborative storytelling and take particular joy in strategically playing my character to its fullest potential.
I deeply appreciate fine dining and am always on the lookout for new cuisines and flavors to explore. My signature dish is tri-tip, which I meticulously prepare using a sous vide for three hours at 54°C, before giving it a final touch over a ≈315°C hardwood fire. This ensures a perfect ≈56°C medium-rare doneness with a thin, crispy crust.
I find tranquility in gardening. It not only allows me to connect with nature but also helps in creating an urban sanctuary for various species like bees, butterflies, birds, raccoons, and most recently, rabbits.
